Refuse and Recycling

This is an overview of the service. We collect refuse and recycling waste fortnightly from all homes across the District.
We offer a paid for Green Waste Collection Service which operates for a twelve month period between the months of April and March inclusive.
We offer a chargeable collection service for bulky waste and electrical items. A charge of £25 is made to collect up to four items which must be paid for at the time you make the order. (NB: There is a maximum of four items per fortnight).
If your bin or sack has been missed by our collection crew after being correctly presented it must be reported to us either in person or by ringing Customer Services on 01507 601111 within 3 working days so that we can return to collect the waste.
We provide Assisted Collections for householders who are unable to present their waste at the kerbside due to either disability or infirmity.
In addition to our kerbside collection service, we also provide recycling facilities, for residents to recycle household waste such as textiles, paper and shoes. Each recycling site includes a Bottle Bank for glass.
Additional/Larger bins are available if you produce healthcare waste, have two or more children in nappies under the age of four, or have five or more people in your family.
We do not provide a waste collection service to charities or schools. This has to be carried out by a private waste collection company.
If your household generates healthcare associated or clinical waste, please contact us so that we can offer guidance on how to correctly dispose of it.
We provide a kerbside refuse and recycling collection service and a paid-for green waste collection service.
